Water has always held a special place in the Strawbridge family story. When searching for our forever home, being close to water was at the top of the list – so when we first saw the Chateau, the moat was the icing on the cake.
In 2019, a family visit to Monet’s Gardens in Giverny sparked a new idea. Captivated by the beauty of Monet’s famous lily garden, we returned home inspired and planted 30 lily rhizomes in the moat. Just a couple of months later, we were rewarded with week after week of beautiful flowers.
The lilies went on to inspire Angel’s much-loved Lily design, and now they have blossomed into something new.
With a nod to Angel’s love of vintage treasures, the Water Lily Brooch takes inspiration from the bold Bakelite brooches of the Art Deco era. Sculptural, colourful and made to be noticed, it’s a playful way to wear a little piece of The Chateau – and proof that the brooch deserves its moment once again!
