Start by cutting a piece of fabric 48cm x 48cm. Make sure the pattern on the fabric is centred inside the cushion. This is your front facing side of the cushion.

For the back side of the cushion, cut a 48cm x 56cm piece of fabric. Then cut the second piece of fabric in two. It doesn’t matter where you cut as this is your opening for the cushion filler. Then roll hem the two edges that you cut in two.

Choose a fringed trim to make the cushion extra fluffy and cuddly. On the first piece of fabric (48cm x 48cm) stitch the fringe trim around the inside of the fabric. Then place the larger back panel over the front cushion panel, making sure right sides are facing each other. Place the smaller piece over the top. Stitch all 3 pieces together around the edge of the cushion and then turn the cushion cover inside out and press the edges and fringing out so they sit flat.

Now for the fun part for the kids! Draw around both of their hands on some felt with a pencil. Cut the hands out and stick them onto the front of the cushion using spray glue adhesive. Cut little sleeves out of the felt and glue them on using the spray adhesive. As an additional personalisation, add felt cut out initials and love hearts.
