When pressing your flowers, carefully place them flowers in different positions to get a variety of profile and full-frontal results. Pop some tins of paint or a stack of heavy books on top and leave for at least a week for the flowers to dry and press.

Use a clear lock frame to feature the dried blooms in. A regular frame with a solid background would work just as well. These frames are hung with a chain or you can swap the chain on a couple of the frames for a velvet ribbon as it gives a softer, more personal touch to the gift.

Arrange the flowers in the frame and play around with the composition until you are happy with how it looks. We did a classic ‘flower specimen’ frieze in this frame. Before closing the frame, be sure to snip off any ends of the stems that might be poking out of the frame. You may need to tape or use a dab of glue to keep the stem in place.

Create a second, larger frame. We wanted a ‘meadow’ frieze focusing on how the flowers would grow naturally in the wild.
