House Christmas Decoration

The Chateau’s beautifully decorated mantelpiece is a key feature of every Strawbridge Christmas. This festive display combines homemade crafts with the Wallpaper Museum wallpaper for a striking centrepiece.

What You'll Need:

Step 1.

Take your cardboard box and flatten it out. Divide the box into columns using a pencil and ruler. Leave 5-inch spaces between each vertical line.

Step 2.

Start to draw the house roof across each column. Vary the style and height of each roof to create a city scape effect.

Step 3.

Use a cutting mat, blade and ruler to begin cutting out the terraced houses. The ruler will help to make sure the houses as straight and neat as possible. We made two rows of houses so they stagger on the mantle for extra depth.

Step 4.

Score a line between each house so they can bend easily. Use a white pen to draw the detail of each house onto the cardboard.

If you make this, we'd love to see it. You can share it on the Escape To The Chateau Fan Club Facebook Group or tag us on Instagram @escape.to.the.chateau
