Meet Me at The Melbourne
Last year we launched our very own ‘Dare to Do it – at Home’ literary competition where we encouraged budding authors to send in their own pieces of work…we received everything from poems, autobiographies, and entire novels! It was extremely difficult to choose our shortlist, and I'm sure even more difficult for visitors to our website to choose their favourite...
Your winner was Gemma Frances who wrote the fantastic Meet me at the Melbourne, which has now been lovingly designed and published by us and our team here at The Chateau, working closely with Gemma on all the final details. A true collaboration!
Meet me at The Melbourne follows Eve who first met James in Australia, she thought she’d found a love to last a lifetime however the tug of home draws her back to England and James declares he has no intention of coming with her.
Crushed and at a crossroads, Eve is inspired to open an Aussie-style café in the heart of her local community and by Christmas, The Melbourne Community Café is a thriving hub serving the best coffee this side of the northern hemisphere!
With the local handyman and an amorous Italian restaurateur competing for Eve’s affections, could her inability to let go thwart her second chance at happiness?
The winner of the competition was able to choose a charity in which 10% of every sale would be donated to and Gemma proudly chose Plan International*, a global charity driving change to advance children’s rights and equality for girls. Gemma also won a year's membership to the Society of Authors. A big congratulations from us Gemma!
Made in Britain.
