Escape to the Chateau
Back in 2015 we stumbled across Chateau de la Motte Husson, a derelict 19th century fairy tale chateau in the Pays de la Loire with 45-rooms, a moat, orangery, 12 acres, 7 outbuildings and huge potential for our new life in France.
Moving to a new home, in a foreign country, in the middle of Winter, with no electric, sewerage or heating, and our two very young children in tow, could be considered foolish. But we fell in love with the Chateau instantly.
After decades of neglect, the Chateau needed hard work and dedication to bring it back to life. It was a renovation on the grandest of scales, but we were up for the challenge and set to work on our dream.
Our adventures were recorded in Channel 4’s primetime series ‘Escape to the Chateau™’. We are so proud to have this documentary of our lives to show the children one day...We can't wait to keep sharing our story with you with new projects in the future!

Make Do & Mend
During lockdown in spring 2020, we made our first series of ‘Escape to the Chateau™ Make Do & Mend’ (filmed entirely by us!), where we helped the others with their DIY dilemmas and crafting conundrums... and we were so pleased to film a second series in 2021! It’s so special to us to be able to share our Chateau adventures with you.
