On the fourth floor of The Chateau, a room patiently awaited some TLC. The former servant's quarters boast a stunning view of the "Potagerie", the Chateau's walled garden.
The room waited nearly four years to receive the attention it deserved, and in that time, the Potagerie had begun its transformation – and the view got better and better and better.
Dick duly named it "The Potagerie Suite", and from that moment on, the room began to come to life.
For Angel, design is about telling a story, and this one is about love.
"The kitchen garden is Dick's passion, and while tending to it is a little outside my comfort zone, I appreciate the beauty of everything that grows. With this design, I combine my admiration for Art Deco design with the produce lovingly cultivated by my husband. Carrots, courgettes, artichokes, sweet peas, and our bees feature in this bountiful celebration of the Potagerie. To complete the cottage garden feel, I drew inspiration from the flowers on the original century-old wallpaper in the room.” - Angel Strawbridge
