Summer Flower Bunting

Whether you hang dried flowers, fresh flowers or foliage from the garden, one thing you can be sure of is that summer flower bunting will put a smile on your guests’ faces. And, at the end of the party, you can let them take the flowers home as favours (it saves you the job of taking them down!)

This craft is taken from A Taste of the Chateau.

What You’ll Need:
• Long, strong string or cord (a washing line is perfect)
• Lots of flowers (enough to cover the length of your string or cord and give you the display you envision)
• Metal hooks (‘S’ type – we use roof tile hooks)

Step 1.

Decide on the position of your dining table – you will need to think about how/where you will be able to secure the bunting string/cord, especially if you want the bunting to hang over/around the table. You will need there to be trees, a fence or a wall/post to attach the bunting.

Step 2.

Tie the bunting string/cord over/around the table – pay attention to the height of the string, as no one wants to bump into the hanging flowers.

Step 3.

Use the ‘S’ hooks to hang the flowers from the bunting string/cord.

Step 4.

We simply hung the flowers using the leaf nodes coming off the stem or the flower itself.
