Jam Jar Toppers for Preserves from the Garden

The Chateau’s beautifully decorated mantelpiece is a key feature of every Strawbridge Christmas. This festive display combines homemade crafts with the Wallpaper Museum wallpaper for a striking centrepiece.

What You’ll Need:
• Fabric scraps
• Scissors/pinking shears
• Homemade preserves or mini jars of honey
• Rubber bands
• Coloured cord/jute/ribbon
• Labels and a pen (for the table settings)

Step 1.

Cut circles of fabric to cover the jam jar lids – cut them 3cm/1¼ inch bigger than the lid’s diameter.

Step 2.

Place the fabric on top of a jar of homemade preserve or the mini jars of honey and secure in place with an elastic band.

Step 3.

Tie some coloured cord, jute or ribbon around the elastic band to cover it.

Step 4.

If you are making the table settings, add labels and write on the guests’ names.
