In the coastal village of Lulworth in Dorset, Stuart had a simple goal to make his wife smile on her birthday. Stuart and his wife love watching Escape to the Chateau. But for them, it’s not just the grand renovations or sweeping romance of chateau life that stands out-it’s the small, thoughtful details.

One in particular had become a firm favourite in their home. The charming felt Christmas tree decoration of Dick made by a fan. It’s a simple, characterful little portrait that captures what people love about the show.His wife adored it.

So, with her birthday approaching, Stuart came up with an idea. He decided he would recreate that iconic decoration...not in felt, but as a cake topper, sitting proudly on a homemade birthday cake. Stuart got in touch with the Chateau to ask for a little help. He wanted an image of the original decoration to use as a guide...and of course, we were delighted to oblige!

It wasn’t about perfection, or anything commercial. Just a husband, putting in the effort to create something personal, thoughtful, and rooted in a shared love of a show that’s brought them joy.
