Mother's Day Gifts: Keepsake Floral Cards, Part Three

Homemade cards are the most thoughtful part of a gift. It’s not about a perfect finish, it's about the time and effort put into crafting something for someone you love.

Decorate the inside of the card with a handprint. We call it a flower tree...a wonderful handmade, personal touch to any Mother’s Day card, not to mention a lovely memory of how little your child is.

Step 1.

Gently press your child's hand into a plate of paint and then onto a piece of coloured card.

Step 2.

Once the painted handprint is dry use coloured markers to draw flower heads around each finger tip.

Step 3.

Cut out the hand-tree and glue it down inside the card.

Step 4.

For the finishing touch, the child/ren sign the card. You’ve now created a beautiful handmade, 3D flower card that grandma can keep as a Mother’s Day memento.

Don’t forget, you can also join the Escape to The Chateau Fan Club on Facebook and join a community of like-minded creative people who love to share their craft and DIY projects. So, if you’ve recently completed a project that you’re proud of, be sure to share it on there…we’d all love to see it!
