Book Crafts: How-To Make A Pressed Flower Bookmark
What you'll need:
• Flower cuttings
• Scissors
• Paper
• Something heavy to press the flowers
• A laminator
• Laminating pouches
• Ribbon
• Craft knife
• Cutting matt
• Fabric glue
Step 1.
Collect a variety of flower cuttings and lay them on a piece of paper, arranged at different angles. Cover with another piece of paper and then cardboard.
Step 2.
Place something heavy on top to maintain enough weight to press the flowers over the course of a few weeks. After a few weeks your flowers will be dry and pressed flat.
Step 3.
Using laminating pouches, place your flowers inside the two layers. Arrange them so they look like they are growing in a wildflower meadow. Once you are happy with the arrangement, close the laminating pouch and run the sandwiched flowers through the laminator.
Step 4.
Add ribbons to the bookmark. Using a craft knife and cutting matt, cut a slit into your bookmark where desired and slot your chosen ribbon(s) through. Glue the ribbons together at the base using fabric glue. You can also knot the ribbons securely in place. Happy reading!
