3000/8000 Grit Whetstone
Investing in good knives is a great starting point but keeping them sharp is just as important.
It’s easy to forget about sharpening them , even I forget sometimes, but I would definitely recommend it for any keen cook or chef. Our ultra-sharp Triplex steel blades won’t need sharpening very often and should require just a few minutes on the fine side of the whetstone to regain its keen edge. But if you have other knives made from softer steel the coarser grade will help to restore a very dull edge before sharpening it fully on the medium side of the block. The 3000/8000 Grit Stone will give you a seriously sharp knife with a polished finish.
Measurements: 20cm x 5cm
How to use
1. Soak the whetstone in water for 20 minutes, then placed on a cloth with a bowl of water at hand.
2. Splash the whetstone with water and angle the blade of your knife on the stone. Rub the edge against the stone in a light circular motion, making sure that you move the blade backwards and forwards to sharpen all the way from heel to tip until your desired sharpness is achieved. Remember to splash the whetstone with more water at regular intervals.
3. If your blade is damaged or very dull start on the coarser side of the whetstone. Always finish on the medium side.
